MEDLANTIS: AN INNOVATIVE AND ENGAGING ONLINE RESOURCE FOR RADIOLOGY EDUCATION

MARKHAM, Ont. (July 2, 2013) - Proudly sponsored by Toshiba, Medlantis is an innovative and engaging online resource for radiology education with a mandate to provide online access to high quality and contemporary education material. Medlantis offers a unique and immersive experience previously unavailable to the radiology community. Launched by the University Health Network of Toronto, Medlantis provides online access to hundreds of hours of Medical Imaging educational resources, from basic protocol training to groundbreaking interventional techniques.

UHN, Toshiba's joint development facility in Toronto, has introduced Medlantis to disseminate the knowledge of a roster of leading radiology practitioners and researchers to other professionals, educators, and students. Medlantis, with support from industry partners Toshiba and Thieme, is transforming knowledge translation in the field of radiology. Medlantis breaks down barriers and brings together the best and most driven intellects and gives them the mentorship and tools that allows them to express their creativity in a way that allows each generation to find better solutions to the challenges we face. With a database of 200 hypertext books, 80,000 radiological images, 152 video lectures, and 2500 case studies, the site is currently deployed in 23 countries.

This wealth of content is organized into individual teaching modules which are further enhanced by incorporation of links to material provided by leading medical publisher Thieme. Users have access to lectures available for the following specialties:
