Toshiba's New Aplio Platinum Series Helps Customers Consolidate Ultrasound Services

The Aplio Platinum series provides powerful clinical imaging tools for advanced visualization, quantification and intervention.

Allows System Standardization and Expands the Clinical Utility of Ultrasound

CHICAGO, Dec. 3, 2014 – The introduction of the new AplioTM 300 and 500 Platinum Series (pending Health Canada clearance) from Toshiba expands the clinical utility of ultrasound, allowing providers to consolidate lines of care on to a single platform.

The Aplio Platinum series provides powerful clinical imaging tools for advanced visualization, quantification and intervention. This includes BEAM, a new technique that improves needle visualization during ultrasound-guided procedures. On the Aplio 500 Platinum, Shear Wave elastography is a new tool to non-invasively measure tissue stiffness of the liver and potentially reduce expensive biopsies, while Superb Micro-Vascular Imaging (SMI) can capture low-velocity blood flow without the need for contrast agents or more invasive modalities.

The Aplio Platinum Series has been designed to offer clinicians a patient-centric system that expands the clinical utility of ultrasound while providing a safer, less invasive solution.

The Aplio 300 and 500 Platinum Series were introduced at this year's Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting in Chicago, Nov. 30–Dec.5,2014 (Booth #7333, North Hall).
