After finishing her specialist registrar training in St. Vincent’s University Hospital, Dublin, Ireland and having completed her fellowship exam of the Faculty of Radiology, Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland, Dr Purcell travelled to France for a two-year fellowship in Hôpital Beaujon, Clichy followed by a further year’s fellowship in Hôpital Fondation Adolphe de Rothschild, Paris, where she holds her current role as Consultant Neuroradiologist and Deputy Department Head.

She has a specialist interest in ophthalmic, orbital and neuro ophthalmological imaging, with expertise in Doppler and ultra-high frequency ultrasound in this domain, as well as advanced techniques in MRI and CT.
