Product and Applications Specialist - Healthcare Informatics

Canon Medical Systems Canada is a leading worldwide provider of high-quality diagnostic imaging systems and comprehensive medical solutions looking for highly capable Product and Applications Specialist – Healthcare Informatics to be located in Ontario.

The Product and Applications Specialist – HIT will work closely with and report to the Product Manager – HIT in assisting with the sales process; providing product knowledge and support, and giving product demonstrations to achieve regional and corporate sales/marketing goals. You will further support the HIT sales team by assisting in RFP responses and creating and delivering learning materials. 

You will provide ongoing customer support (applications) through on-site product installations, upgrades, phone support and training programs, maintain knowledge of current trends in HIT to support customers as capabilities of products are developed and released, and support company goals in all interactions with customers and employees. You will represent Canon Medical Systems Canada in a professional manner at all times.

This position collaborates effectively with CMSCA corporate and regional resources to achieve profitable revenue growth with customer satisfaction.

The primary territory for this position is within the province of Ontario. Candidates must reside in a city within their territory that holds the majority of their customer base and be located near a major airport (within 1 hour's drive) to be considered. Note that the Product and Applications specialist will also provide support nationally across Canada as needed.

Major Responsibilities

  • Provide product/modality knowledge, quotation support, RFP text, marketing campaigns, etc.
  • You will be an integral team player in the sales support process of our complete line of diagnostic imaging systems, HIT products, to hospitals and private clinics. 
  • Provide clinical applications support in hospitals, clinics, and other facilities
  • Support post-sales activities: installation, training, follow-up, and troubleshooting with new or existing customers 
  • Consistently deliver high-level quality of education and training to both internal and external customers 
  • Utilize product knowledge to effectively position features and capabilities that represent solutions to customer needs 
  • Develop and update product line collateral and presentation content on an as-needed basis 
  • Provide additional training for Account Managers on the features and specifications of the MRI product line, and support the Product Manager and BU Manager where needed. 
  • Develop product line presentations and conduct training meetings for the sales force on product solution positioning strategies with and for customers. 
  • Work together with the Clinical Product Manager to perform product demonstrations, site visits, and follow up with the Account Managers and Regional Sales Directors. 
  • Provide support to Account Managers / Sales Team on strategy and product offerings. 
  • Assist with the quote tender response and validate the tender documentation in collaboration with Account Managers, Product Manager, Business Unit Manager, and National Director of Sales. 
  • Track the market and provide accurate current and forecast data using the information tools available
  • Communicate market information effectively to/from the field, including competitor data 
  • Communicate effectively with members of the sales/marketing/service team to maximize all sales potential and communicate leads to relevant colleagues. 
  • Generates, records, and maintains customer profiles, including key decision makers. 
  • Ensures knowledge of and compliance with Company policies and quality processes 
  • Knowledge and understanding of all Global Privacy and Anti-Competition Policies and operates within them to ensure that no company policy or US / Int’l Law is broken.
  • Adheres at all times to all CMSCA policies, including environmental, health and safety, and confidentiality policies in their entirety.


Position Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of CT and/or MRI clinical experience as a registered technologist in a hospital or clinic environment, and or as a CT Applications Specialist
  • Experience in 3D post processing
  • Registry required with CAMRT, AART, or equivalent. 
  • In-depth knowledge of CT physics and applications. Previous advanced CT user experience is a plus.
  • Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Will require travel. 
  • Previous classroom teaching and presentation experience preferred (in CT would be a plus) 
  • Previous leadership experience is a plus
  • MS Office software, including PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel. 
  • Commercial applications experience or sales experience is a plus 
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. 
  • Strong customer interface and training skills. 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team 
  • Effectively and appropriately displays professional skills necessary to manage interpersonal relationships with team members, colleagues, and customers. 
  • Works in a well-organized manner, consistently meeting customer and Canon Medical time requirements.
  • Submit for a Police Criminal Records Check (PCRC) and Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) 
  • Must provide proof of up-to-date immunizations
