Salary range: $70,000 - $75,000 annually

Canon Medical Systems Canada (CMSCA) is a leading worldwide provider of high-quality diagnostic imaging systems and comprehensive medical solutions looking for a highly capable Intermediate Accountant to be located out of our head office in Markham, Ontario.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Intermediate Accountant is responsible for performing financial transactions, auditing financial documents, as well as supporting the day-to-day accounting operations and CMSCA's month-end activities.

Major Responsibilities

  • Assist with the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting close activities, and prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries; 
  • Support with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting processes;
  • Analyze financial data to ensure everything is accurate and complete;
  • Provide support for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and other accounting functions;
  • Assist during annual financial statement audits, as well as internal and external control audits;
  • Be open to taking on additional tasks within the department and ready to put in extra hours during the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close periods;
  • Contribute to the monthly forecasting process;
  • Adhere at all times to all CMSCA policies, including environmental, health and safety, and confidentiality policies in their entirety.


Position Requirements

  • 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience, experienced multi-national organization is an asset;
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma specializing in accounting and finance;
  • Experienced with Oracle ERP and GAINs systems, and IFRS is an asset;
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills;
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, ability to work with members within and outside the Finance department;
  • Strong work ethics are essential;
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced setting is required;
  • Comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment;
  • Well-organized with self-motivation;
  • Exhibit a high level of attention to detail, maintain a professional demeanor, and is consistently dependable;
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills;
  • Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing;
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
