On November 28, 2025 , Canon Medical Systems Corporation started sales of Mobirex i9 / Smart Edition, a high-end mobile X-ray system with enhanced radiography support functions.

Canon Medical Systems Corporation received the Invention Award at the awards ceremony of the 2025 National Commendation for Invention, hosted by the Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation. The award was given in recognition of our patent "Invention of an MRI system enabling multiplanar real-time cardiac scanning without breath-holding".

TOKYO, March 5, 2025—Canon Inc. announced today that 111 Canon Group product designs were recognized by iF International Forum Design GmbH with the prestigious iF Design Award 2025. This year marks Canon's 31st consecutive year of winning the iF Design Award.

TOKYO, November 27, 2024-Canon Inc., Canon Medical Systems Corporation, and Canon Healthcare USA, Inc. announced today that they have launched a research collaboration with Penn Medicine for the application of photon-counting CT after completing the installation of the world’s 4th Canon-developed system for photon-counting CT technology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Research is underway aimed at accelerating the development of PCCT by continuing the advancement of diagnostic devices based on feedback from clinical practice. The partnership will focus on enhancing specific diagnostic imaging specialties such as chest/cardiac and musculoskeletal imaging.

Canon Medical Systems Corporation has been supporting research to verify noninvasive evaluation methods for liver disease using a set of applications "Liver Package" for Aplio i-series diagnostic ultrasound systems. In an international multicenter study known as the iLEAD Study, it was found that the diagnostic data obtained using Attenuation Imaging (ATI), Shear Wave Dispersion (SWD), and Shear Wave Elastography (SWE), which are applications that support “Liver Package,” show good correlations with the degree of hepatic steatosis, inflammation, and fibrosis. A paper reporting the clinical evidence and results obtained in this study has been published in the leading academic journal Radiology.
