Architectural Technologist

CANON MEDICAL SYSTEMS CANADA LIMITED is a leading worldwide provider of high quality diagnostic imaging systems and comprehensive medical solutions looking for a highly capable Architectural Technologist, located in Markham, Ontario

In this position, the Architectural Technologist will assist in measured building surveys, existing "as built" drawings, design and preparation of conceptual drawings, construction and building permit drawings, including site plans, floor plans, elevations, building sections and details, field review, client meetings and report writing.  


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design layout drawings for new and existing hospitals such as procedure rooms, control areas and equipment rooms as well as other areas pertaining to work flow
  • Generate working drawings (electrical and mechanical) and technical specifications to guide the equipment installation process
  • Review architectural and structural drawings from third party architects and engineers
  • Perform site visit to hospitals and meet with clients (doctors and technicians) to discuss current and future hospital renovations and equipment updates
  • Communicate with the sales and installations team as well as the general contractors and architects to ensure a problem free transition from construction/renovation to equipment installation
  • Work with turnkey providers to confirm the design and installation of the proposed equipment lines up with provided construction quotes and hospital requirements
  • Attend monthly installation review meetings to ensure projects remain on schedule
  • Attend New Product Introduction (NPI) meetings to gather information on site planning and installation requirements when new products are introduced to the company's portfolio
  • Work closely with a large team including Project Coordinator, Account Managers, Tender Coordinator, Regional Service Managers, National Technical Support, Product Managers and Turnkey Providers. 


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Proficient in Autodesk software including AutoCAD, REVIT, and 3Ds Max
  • Proficient in MS Office, Outlook, Excel, Word and Adobe Reader
  • Knowledge of the construction industry as it relates to onsite construction and reading drawings and specifications


EXPERIENCE:

  • Diploma in Architectural Technology or a related field
  • Recent Graduate preferred
